CLEVELAND Results from an MRI Thursday showed no major damage to Buck Farmer’s right forearm.

The Detroit Tigers right-hander is expected to join the team Friday after having tests performed in Detroit.

Farmer left Wednesday’s game with forearm tightness.

“He stayed back for an MRI, ultrasound,” Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. “No major structural damage. He’s going to see a specialist here before we determine ultimately what the treatment and/or schedule will be going forward.”

Ausmus said the tightness Farmer was experiencing was on the top, so there’s not a concern about the ulnar collateral ligament.

“It’s not under...so it’s different,” Ausmus said. “The UCL looked good. That all looked good.

“They’re not worried about it being ulnar mass. The tightness is on the top of the forearm.”

Farmer, 24, was a fifth-round pick by the Tigers in the 2013 draft. He has appeared in a dozen games this season for the Tigers, including five starts. He has a 7.71 ERA and a 1.795 WHIP with 21 strikeouts in 37.1 innings for the Tigers.

He was 7-3 with a 4.15 ERA and a 1.269 WHIP with 76 strikeouts in 86.2 innings this season at Triple-A Toledo.
