New York Knicks forward Cleanthony Early was shot in the right leg after being robbed over several valuable items, including the gold caps on his teeth, after leaving a strip club early Wednesday morning, police told multiple media outlets.

The New York Daily News reports the second-year player and his girlfriend were about a mile away from the Queens gentlemen’s club CityScapes when the Uber car they were riding in was boxed in by three other cars.

Early was pulled out of the back seat by several men, including two with semiautomatic pistols, who told him, “Give me everything you got,” according to the Daily News. He obeyed -- handing over a gold necklace and other jewelry, the gold caps from his teeth and his iPhone 6 -- but was still shot in the knee, according to the report.

The Uber driver reportedly was robbed as well.

Early was taken to the hospital and is said to be in stable condition. The Knicks released a statement about the incident.

“We are aware of what occurred with Cleanthony Early this morning and are relieved that he is not in a life-threatening situation,” it said. “We will not comment any further until we receive more information.”

A second-round draft pick from 2014, Early has appeared in 10 games this season, averaging 0.7 points a game.
