Daily Deal: Save 20% at California wine country’s renovated hotel
The Sunburst Calistoga Hotel in downtown Calistoga, Calif., opens its doors with an introductory 20% discount through the end of the year. The 50-room property is an upgrade of the old Calistoga Village Inn & Spa. The pool and mineral pools have been preserved in a new splashy decor the hotel calls retro-modern.
The deal: The Sunburst’s introductory room rates come with a free to-go boxed breakfast and free Wi-Fi. The hotel has been renovated and rebranded by BroughtonHotels, which operates the Georgian in Santa Monica and the Spanish Garden Inn in Santa Barbara.
When: The offer is good through Dec. 31, based on availability.
Tested: I checked online and found availability for a room with one queen-size bed at the reduced rate for Labor Day weekend. Friday and Saturday night rates (Aug. 30 and 31) cost $231 a night, and Sunday (Sept. 1) costs $199 a night. Prices drop to $175 a night for midweek stays, excluding tax. The best available rate on the same nights starts at $275 plus tax.
Info: The Sunburst Calistoga Hotel, 1880 Lincoln Ave.; (707) 942-0991
