Verizon is adjusting prices for its high-speed fiber-optic TV and Internet package, called FiOS, so that users can sign up on a month-to-month basis, without a contract.
The service, which bundles cable television, broadband Internet and home telephone, will cost $99 per month before taxes, and the price is good for one year.
Before the pricing change, FiOS customers had to pay a $20-per-month premium to subscribe to the service without a contract, but the company is offering extra flexibility to users not interested in committing to a two-year contract.
In Los Angeles, FiOS is limited to areas where Verizon is the main phone-service provider -- largely the West Side and the South Bay, as well as some parts of the Valley. Interested customers can check for availability at the Verizon website.
