Need an incentive to vote besides a deep sense of civic duty? Many companies are hoping to lure patrons to the polls by offering Election Day promotions.

Low-cost airline JetBlue Airways Corp. is dangling the chance to win a free flight out of the country for consumers whose favorite candidate loses. Participants in the JetBlue Election Protection poll will be entered into a drawing to earn round-trip fare to any of the airline’s destinations to the Caribbean or Mexico.

Car-sharing company Zipcar Inc. will offer half-off hourly rates during polling hours to members as part of its “Zip to the Polls” program. Urban Outfitters is offering a 20% discount in stores to voters bearing an “I Voted” sticker.

Groupon has a special page dedicated to Election Day deals, very few of them actually related to politics. Instead, the discounts are inspired by the controversial election of 1883 featuring Jefferson Quincy and Monroe Chester. Groupon reached out to both men’s estates to endorse the deals being offered.

At EastLake Country Club in Chula Vista, voters can play golf for $20.12 – a discount of more than $10.

The Eater blog has a list of Los Angeles restaurants, including the Abbey Food & Bar and Post & Beam, that are offering deals on Election Day.

At the Anaheim White House restaurant, diners can order prix-fixe meals inspired by political parties for $60 a person with a free bottle of champagne for patrons who can prove they voted.

The “Race to the White House” options include a Republican Menu with sea bass or duck breast and a Democrat Menu with hangar steak or whitefish florentine.
