The scene: The Hamptons. The ring: A diamond in a rose-gold setting. The fiance: 82 years old.
Soros popped the question to his lady love of about four years, businesswoman Tamiko Bolton. The MBA-degreed Bolton operates a website about yoga, according to Reuters. And she’s 40 years old.
In 1992, when she was of college age, Soros made his name by earning $1 billion from his investments off of the British pound. The mogul-philanthropist usually makes waves for predicting the fate of the euro or making uber-liberal political moves.
Ever the romantic, Soros will “leave the bulk of his estate to charity but he intends to provide generously for his wife,” his lawyer told the New York Post.
Soros is well-practiced in the art of popping the question, this being his third go-round. But not all of his relationships with younger women make it quite so far.
Last year, former Brazilian soap star Adriana Ferryr sued Soros after their five-year liaison. She alleged that he had promised her a $1.9 million apartment on the Upper East Side, which he then purchased for himself after the relationship went south.
