Pair pick Los Feliz beauty for marital home
Voice actor/TV host/comedian Chris Hardwick and actress Lydia Hearst are having a busy fall. They got engaged and bought what will be their marital home — a gated estate in Los Feliz — for $11 million.
The Italianate-style house was designed in 1928 by architect Paul Williams. Among his signature details are the Corinthian columns and a dramatic staircase.
Set on close to half an acre, the 8,240-square-foot, three-story residence has formal living and dining rooms, a den/library, a media room, offices, a gym, a wine room, eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Views take in the hillsides and cityscape.
The grounds include a barbecue, a swimming pool and spa, cabana and a fire pit.
Hardwick, 43, is the founder and chief executive of Nerdist Industries and its weekly interview show Nerdist Podcast. He hosts Comedy Central’s “@midnight With Chris Hardwick” as well as AMC’s “Talking Dead,” and is the voice of Craig on the animated comedy series “Sanjay and Craig” (2013-15).
Hearst, 31, will be in the films “Condemned” and “#horror,” due out this month. She is descended from the William Randolph Hearst media family.
The pair plan to wed next year.

TV host buys party-ready digs
Alfonso Ribeiro, who hosts “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” has bought a Granada Hills home for $1,937,500.
The contemporary Mediterranean, built in 2005, is designed for entertaining. French doors open to a patio with a dining area and pool table. An outdoor barbecue, a brick pizza oven, a sink, an ice maker, a keg, a warming drawer, a refrigerator and a brick fireplace with sitting area are among the party-ready amenities.
A recreation/pool house of about 1,500 square feet includes game areas, nightclub lighting, a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom.
There’s also a basketball half-court and a solar-heated swimming pool, which has a grotto, a waterfall, a slide, a spa and a swim-up water bar with four seats.
In the main house, the master suite features a balcony for a total of eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms and 7,530 square feet of living space. The maid’s quarters have a separate entrance.
Ribeiro, 44, gained television notice on the sitcoms “Silver Spoons” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

Next chapter for novelist’s estate
A penthouse that was owned by the late novelist Tom Clancy is for sale in Baltimore at $12 million.
The 11,959-square-foot condominium was created by combining four units at the Ritz-Carlton Residences. Six terraces extend the living space outdoors. Views take in the cityscape and harbor area.
Five bedrooms, a gym and a home theater are among the mostly white-on-white interior spaces. The study is outfitted with dark built-in bookshelves.
There are three parking spots with the penthouse.
Building amenities include a doorman, concierge service and valet parking.
Clancy, who died two years ago at 66, was born in Baltimore and sold insurance before trying his hand at writing. Several of his techno-thrillers were made into films including his debut novel, “The Hunt for Red October.” He wrote 17 bestsellers and owned a minority share of the Baltimore Orioles.
Clancy and his wife, Alexandra, bought three units making up the penthouse in 2009 for $12.6 million and acquired three more in 2010. Two of those units were maintained as rentals and are not being offered for sale.

Team approach to investing
A group of professional athlete investors, including San Francisco 49ers tailback Reggie Bush, has purchased a Beverly Hills home for $8.95 million with the intention of developing the property.
Marketed as an investment opportunity, the home on a corner lot of more than half an acre came to market in March for $9.95 million. Proposed renderings show a multilevel contemporary with walls of glass, a subterranean parking structure and an infinity-edge swimming pool.
A two-story Traditional-style house with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in 4,691 square feet of living space is currently on the property.
Built in 1955, the home features such details as hardwood and marble floors, detailed molding and rich wood paneling. Formal living and dining rooms, an office/library and a den with a wet bar are among the living spaces.
The master suite has a fireplace, a walk-in closet and a step-up soaking tub.
Outdoors, landscaped grounds include tiered garden beds, large expanses of lawn and a swimming pool and spa. A circular driveway marks the entrance to the home.

Bush, 30, suffered a knee injury last week in a game against the St. Louis Rams and will miss the remainder of the season. The 10-year NFL veteran out of USC previously played for the New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions.
Golf getaway up for grabs
No Doubt drummer Adrian Young has listed his golf course getaway for sale in La Quinta at $679,000.
The Mediterranean-style home, built in 2000, contains nearly 3,000 square feet of living space with formal living and dining rooms, a family room, an eat-in kitchen, three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a powder room. Spanish pavers are used throughout.
Sliding-glass doors open to a swimming pool with a flagstone deck. Many rooms feature a view of the golf course.
The house, which has been staged for sale, is on nearly a quarter of an acre of lushly landscaped grounds. There’s an outdoor fireplace.
Young, 46, is an avid golfer. He joined No Doubt more than 25 years ago and toured with Bow Wow Wow in 2004 during a band hiatus. The drummer/percussionist has worked with groups including Maroon 5 and the Vandals.
He bought the property a dozen years ago for $555,000.
