NHL defenseman Francois Beauchemin, who joined the Colorado Avalanche as a free agent in July after five seasons with the Anaheim Ducks, has sold his home in Tustin for $2.95 million.

Built in 2002, the Mediterranean-style home in gated Tustin Ranch features a chandelier-topped entry that opens to a step-down dining room and formal living room.

Within the 5,400 square feet of living space is a center-island kitchen, a family room, a wet bar and three fireplaces. Two master suites are among the six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.

Rows of French doors open to half-acre grounds containing a saltwater swimming pool, raised spa and waterfall feature. A small courtyard with a fountain sits at the entrance to the home.

Beauchemin, 32, has spent nine of his 13 NHL seasons with Anaheim and is among the franchise leaders in scoring by a defenseman. The one-time all-star signed with the Avalanche for $13.5 million over three years.
