Kunal Nayyar’s character Raj Koothrappali had a breakthrough at the end of last season on “The Big Bang Theory.” He can finally talk to women without consuming alcohol first.

His character is usually mute when there’s a female nearby, but now that he can speak without liquid courage, he’s going to get himself in all sorts of trouble.

“He can now talk to women without alcohol, so who knows what he’s going to say,” Nayyar said Sunday on the Emmy Awards red carpet.

The actor’s show is up for best comedy, and he’s fully embraced all the different ways to consume TV, using “everything” to stay caught up.

“I’ll watch an entire season of stuff on an airplane on my way to India. I use Hulu, Netflix, Apple TV, whatever.”

His pre-Emmy ritual, he said, was “showering and putting on a tux and watching some football.”
