Rihanna and Chris Brown, you have a supporter in Oprah Winfrey.

Winfrey was visibly shocked Friday by the notion that RiRi and Breezy appear to have gotten back together, but in her own words, she also wasn’t really shocked at all.

“I don’t know that that’s true,” she said of the together-again rumor, “and no I’m not surprised,” she told “Extra” in Houston while shooting the “Oprah’s Life Class” premiere with Pastor Joel Osteen.

Winfrey wasn’t shocked, she said, because of Rihanna’s open heart and spirit of forgiveness during their recent interview. Oprah said she loved that Rihanna had “learned a lesson that she was repeating with Chris Brown -- exactly what she needed to learn from her father.”

Regarding the possible love connection years after Brown beat up Rihanna and pleaded guilty to felony assault, Winfrey said, “I think that if she is prepared to deal with that and is prepared to help him help himself then so be it. I have no judgment about it.”

So are the former lovers back together? Rihanna for one seemed to be in a reflective mood Friday, the day after Brown posted a video in which he fretted over whether it was possible to love two people at the same time.

“God makes everything happen at the right time. Yet none of us can ever fully understand all he has done, and he puts questions in our minds about the past and the future,” read the text in one of her Instagram posts.

And then there was her tweet from Thursday, after Brown announced that he’d broken up with girlfriend Karrueche Tran so she wouldn’t be hurt by his “friendship” with Rihanna:
