Zoe Saldana is reportedly a Mrs. — and has been for a while now!
The "Star Trek Into Darkness" actress married Italian artist Marco Perego earlier this summer, People reports.
They wed in a small ceremony with family and friends and are "very happy," a source told the mag.
Saldana, 35, and Perego, a painter, confirmed their relationship at the "Star Trek Into Darkness" premiere in May, where they were spotted kissing. Later that month, they were photographed getting hot and heavy while vacationing in Capri, E! reported.
Then snapshots of them wearing wedding rings emerged this month in London, which first sounded the alarm that they were already man and wife.
Apparently, Perego is Saldana's type. He goes by the nickname Pirate Perego because of his Johnny Depp-inspired demeanor. The Dominican-Puerto Rican actress fessed up that she was looking for "a badass renegade! A pirate! A pirate who can cry. Oh, my God!" when asked what she was looking for in a man. (It just so happens that she starred alongside Depp in "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" too.)
The actress was briefly linked to "Silver Linings Playbook" star Bradley Cooper, with whom she starred with in "The Words." She was also previously engaged to businessman Keith Britton, whom she was with for more than a decade.
The secret wedding comes as a bit of a surprise, since Saldana had been sprinkling a whole bunch of shock-worthy relationship quotes in magazine interviews all year.
In April, she told Latina magazine that she didn't even need a man, but definitely wanted one.
"I don't want to need things," she said. "I need water, you know what I'm saying? I need to exercise, I need to eat. To be with a man should be a want. I don't need anybody. And the people that I do need are just family, tu entiendes? ... But a man is something that I want, I want to be with a partner, because this partner is going to add or I'm going to add to this partner."
And later in May, she was all about her androgynous upbringing and the possibility of being with a woman as Allure's cover girl. (Her rail-thin figure and 115-pound weight revelation also made for hot-button talking points.)
One day she might "end up with a woman raising my children ... that's how androgynous I am!" she said. And when asked whether she's had a relationship with a woman, the actress said, "Just put three dots as my response. That's it."
So, in keeping with the theme, we say ...
