‘Star Wars,’ ‘Hateful Eight’ and ‘Revenant’ among Cinema Audio Society nominees

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “The Hateful Eight” and “The Revenant” were among the nominees Tuesday for the Cinema Audio Society’s 52nd CAS Awards for outstanding achievement in sound mixing.

Also nominated for sound mixing in live-action motion pictures were “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Bridge of Spies.”

Animated motion picture nominations went to “The Good Dinosaur,” “Hotel Transylvania 2,” “Inside Out,” “Minions” and “The Peanuts Movie.”

Television nominations were “American Crime,” “Fargo,” “Game of Thrones,” “Better Call Saul,” “The Walking Dead,” “Modern Family,” “Veep,” “Keith Richards: Under the Influence,” and “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck.”

The winners will be presented Feb. 20 in the Crystal Room of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
