Arctic Monkeys appear to be making the most of their recent move to Los Angeles.

Just weeks after the British band completed a three-night stand at the Wiltern, the group turned up Wednesday night in Hollywood for a performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (Arctic Monkeys had been scheduled to play the late-night show last week but were bumped when Kimmel’s interview with Kanye West went long.)

Frontman Alex Turner and his mates did “Do I Wanna Know?” and “R U Mine?” from the group’s new “AM” album, which finds the Monkeys juicing their once-scrappy garage-rock sound with low-slung beats that sound inspired by the work of Dr. Dre.

In a recent interview, Turner told Pop & Hiss that the record reflects his desire to keep evolving, and that “R U Mine?” was particularly transformative.

“The vocals on that song share something with contemporary R&B,” the singer said. “And from there it was like, ‘Well, what else can we pull in that doesn’t normally go in the rock band box?’”
