Following her very public separation from the Church of Scientology, television personality Leah Remini is getting her own reality show on TLC.
The 12-episode series will follow the former "King of Queens" actress in her home life, the network said in an announcement Wednesday.
“Leah is a no-nonsense, hard-working, relatable mom, wife, daughter, and sister. Her sharp humor and unfiltered family are a perfect match for the network,” Nancy Daniels, the network’s general manager, said in a statement. “This series continues our focus on creating compelling series about remarkable families, using heart and humor to anchor it to the TLC brand.”
The 43-year-old actress is used to putting herself out there -- previously serving as a co-host on CBS gabfest "The Talk" and having co-produced and starred in specials for VH1 about her nuptials and having a baby. As of late, Remini has made headlines due to her split with Scientology and subsequent claims about the church.
Production on the the untitled half-hour began Wednesday and is slated for a summer rollout.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
