Salastina Music Society, Barbershop at former A.O.C., Kitchen Takeover III

A concert and cuisine: If you’re looking for Friday date night ideas, there are still tickets available for tonight’s Salastina Music Society performance at the Wine Vault in Glendale. This evening’s program will include a musical performance, featuring the likes of Mozart and Brahms, followed by a five-course menu from Gary Menes of Le Comptoir. Barbershop Ristorante Italiano dinners return: Starting on Feb. 27, Mario Vollera and chef Walter el Nagar’s pop-up Barbershop Ristorante Italiano will be setting up shop at the former A.O.C. space through March 24. Each dinner will feature a seven course, prix-fixe menu incorporating meats from Lindy & Grundy, seasonal produce from the Santa Monica Farmers Market and more. Dinner will be served at a chef’s table seating 16 diners, with two seatings available per night, Wednesday through Saturday. Guest chefs and sommeliers are scheduled to pop-up throughout the month too. The multi-course meal costs $75 per person with optional wine pairings available for an additional $45. Barbershop Ristorante Italiano will also be serving pizzas at the wine bar, Wednesday through Saturday, and offering brunch on Sundays. Call for details and reservations. 8022 W. Women in the kitchen: In honor of Women’s History Month, four female chefs from around L.A. will be teaming up on March 5 for the third installment of the Kitchen Takeover dinner series at former-church-turned-restaurant Abigaile in Hermosa Beach. Abigaile chef Tin Vuong will host the dinner while Leslie Durso of Veggie Dreamgirl, Sandra Cordero of Cordero Negro, Meg Hall of Made by Meg and Danielle Keene of Bittersweet Treats collaborate in the kitchen to create a five-course menu that will be served alongside cocktails made by bartender Lindsay Nader of Elysium Craft Cocktail Services. Tickets are $65 per person; a portion of proceeds will benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
