Twitter #Weekendeats highlights: Comfort food

The weather this weekend was less than stellar. Gray skies, rainy days and a cold chill were enough to make anyone want to stay inside. One thing that always cures the rainy weather blues is comfort food. This Monday, our Twitter #Weekendeats chat participants shared their comfort foods from the weekend. Here are the highlights:

Susan Orlins shared a classic banana cake recipe, a recipe for almond poppy seed rolls from the blog BananaWonder.com, a picture of stuffed French toast with strawberry sauce and vanilla anglaise from Jessica Glick of the blog JessicasGlutenDairyFreeKitchen.com and an adorable how-to on Cinderella cupcakes from the blog JustJennRecipes.com.

On the savory side, Shirley K. from the blog LovelyLanvin.com shared a recipe for her beef, egg and green pea fried rice, Prachi Joshi from the blog DeliciouslyDirectionless.com shared a recipe for penne with alfredo, minus the cream, and from the blog Yumivore, a recipe for chef Tal Ronnen’s corn chowder.
