Here’s where to celebrate New Year’s Eve with the craft brew crowd

We’re in the home stretch now, just a few more days until the ball drops, the holidays are over, and we can get back to some semblance of normalcy. Whether 2013 was a banner year or one you’d rather just put behind you, there are plenty of lively spots in L.A. to celebrate the new year’s arrival.

In addition to the places highlighted in our guide to happenings around town, here are eight more celebrations that cater specially to craft beer fans.

The New Year’s Eve Madness Party at Angel City Brewery kicks off at 6 p.m. and features four bands, a new art exhibit opening, food trucks and plenty of colorful characters. There’s also a midnight toast with their flagship Eureka Wit and no cover.

Blue Palms Brewhouse is offering an all-inclusive package featuring unlimited pours of their 24 taps, house wine and cocktails, a buffet and a champagne toast at midnight. There will also be a limited menu and by-the-glass pricing for those that don’t want to pony up the $60 for the carte blanche. Doors open at 8 p.m., stay open until 3 a.m., and you can purchase tickets in advance online.

Brew Year’s Eve at City Tavern is an all-you-can-drink party featuring 22 taps of craft beer and selected wines and champagne. Dinner seatings begin at 4:30 p.m., and the 2014 Countdown Party begins at 10 p.m. The party will cost $58 if you make a dinner reservation, or $68 if you just walk in, and you can reserve the tap-equipped beer booths for $100 per person.

Mohawk Bend is throwing another Best of Mohawk Dinner that features “unlimited servings of some of our bestvegan and non-vegan dishes served family-style.” Make a reservation or walk in. The $40 ticket also includes a craft beer toast; the party starts at 5 p.m.

The Pub at Golden Road Brewing is hosting a party with live music, a special menu with lots of vegan options, and a specialty beer flight. Dinner is served from 6 to 10 p.m., and the regular pub menu will also be available. Reservations are not required, but can be made via email.

Story Tavern in Burbank is throwing a Beertacular evening with a holiday beer-heavy taplist and some barrel-aged treats too. You can get 15 (5-ounce) taster pours for $40, and the party begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Surly Goat will offer up a selection of holiday brews for its all-you-can-drink bash that will also features DJs and surely an energetic crowd. Admission is $65 and includes bottomless draught beer, wine, champagne, and select liquor. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Tony’s Darts Away is offering bottomless beer and a special menu of “TDA favorites” for $75, which also guarantees you a coveted seat at the neighborhood beer bar. Space is limited, and the tap list is shaping up nicely, so don’t snooze on calling or emailing for a reservation.
