Tax Day 2015: Where to get $1 cocktails, plus more drink specials

Today is Tax Day. Chances are, you’ve either got a refund burning a hole in your pocket or you just wrote a big check to Uncle Sam. Either way, a stiff drink could do you some good.

Here are some restaurants and bars offering Tax Day specials, including seven bars from the 1933 Group, offering $1 cocktails from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Just don’t spend that refund all in one place.

Copa d’Oro: Instead of a tax break, the Santa Monica bar is offering Tab Returns. Your discount for the evening depends on how much you spend. The more you spend, the bigger the discount. If your tab is $25 or less, you’ll get 10% back. Spend $26 to $50 and get 15% back. Spend more than $51 and get 25% off your total bill. Plan Check downtown: The restaurant is offering its Smokey Juarez cocktail for $7 on Wednesday. It’s a mix of Xicaru Blanco mezcal, blood orange, lemon juice, simple syrup and a sprinkle of smoked salt.
