From loaded bowls of ramen in the San Fernando Valley to the new chef at the Getty, here’s what’s happening in the world of food and drink:

More ramen please: Oh Man! Ramen, the new restaurant by chefs Luke Reyes and Phillip Frankland Lee, has started serving bowls of ramen out of Lee’s sister restaurant Scratch Bar & Kitchen in Encino. Oh Man! Ramen will move to its own, permanent location in the coming weeks. Until then, there’s salmon sashimi; karaage chicken sandwiches; pork belly buns; spicy tuna and sea urchin rice bowls and plenty of ramen (tonkotsu and vegetable ramen) from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Scratch Bar & Kitchen. 16101 Ventura Blvd., No. 255, Encino, (818) 646-6085, www.ohmanramen.com.

Chef moves: Sydney Hunter III, the chef at Kettle Black in Silver Lake (the man with the great mustache), has taken over as executive chef at Sawyer, the sunlit restaurant just 30 feet from Kettle Black. Sawyer’s former chef, Alex McWilliams, left due to health matters. Hunter has already started preparing a new fall seafood-focused menu along with sous chef Alejandro Galan (formerly executive chef at Catch & Release). Sawyer’s beverage director, Jordan Young, also has a new cocktail menu. 3709 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, (323) 641-3709 www.sawyerlosangeles.com.

Panini by Angelini: Gino Angelini, along with partners Gino Rindone and Elizabeth Angelini, has opened his first grab-and-go café and marketplace. It’s called Alimentari and it’s right next to the chef’s celebrated Angelini Osteria in Fairfax. The cafe is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a breakfast-focused menu of pastries, egg dishes and panini. Angelini’s pasta sauces will also be sold at the café, along with some Italian-imported items such as balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and Prosciutto di Parma. These items will also be available to purchase online and at other stores in the future. 7317 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, (323) 297-0070, www.angelinialimentari.com.

An Iron Chef in Vegas: Masaharu Morimoto, by far the coolest Iron Chef from the Food Network series (sorry, other Iron chefs), has opened a restaurant at the MGM hotel in Las Vegas called Morimoto Las Vegas. It’s adjacent to Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak. On the menu: sukiyaki, sushi, larger entrees such as the braised black cod, and a duck meatball soup with duck confit fried rice. Morimoto will also be serving aged sake from a label he created. 3799 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, (702) 891-1111, www.mgmgrand.com/en/restaurants/morimoto.html.

Alma does doughnuts: Ari Taymor has launched a new series called Doughnuts With Friends at his restaurant Alma at the Standard on Sunset Boulevard. Taymor will have a rotating menu of doughnuts featuring collaborations with local chefs. The flavors will change every two weeks. The series starts with a coconut kabocha squash-glazed doughnut filled with banana compote, topped with fried mochi, candied pumpkin seeds and yuzu zest from Kwang Uh of Baroo. Chefs confirmed to participate in the series include Jessica Koslow of Sqirl, Sara Kramer and Sarah Hymanson of Madcapra, the team from Russ & Daughters in New York City, the team at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream and Malcolm Livingston (pastry chef at Noma). 8300 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, (323) 822-3131, www.standardhotels.com/la/features/alma-restaurant-hollywood.

Hotel chef moves: Raphael Lunetta, who was the owner and executive chef of the now-closed JiRaffe in Santa Monica, has taken over culinary operations at the Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica (the one with the really cool blue and yellow facade and the striped awning out front). Part of the culinary revamp includes what Lunetta is calling a coastal Californian menu at Veranda, the restaurant in the hotel. The lobby is also undergoing a remodel to include a cocktail lounge. 1415 Ocean Ave., Santa Monica, (310) 395-9945, www.georgianhotel.com.

Still hungry? Jean-Paul Lourdes has been named the new executive chef at the Getty Center. Miro in downtown L.A. has launched a new happy hour.
