Beverly Hills estate long on star turns asks $32 million

A Beverly Hills estate that has come back on the market at $32 million is a star in its own right.

The property served as O.J. Simpson’s mansion in the FX series “The People vs. O.J. Simpson.” The home’s owner, Daphna Edwards Ziman, launched then-Sen. John F. Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign there and has hosted other political fundraisers on the site. And the 1923 house had an early remodel from architect to the stars Paul Williams.

Set on more than acre with a tennis court and guesthouse, the Tudor revival and French country main house has the distinctive half-timbering in keeping with the style and herringbone-patterned brick insets.

Updates during the current owner’s tenure include Italian leaded windows, wood beams from a church in England and a 16th century fireplace purchased at auction from the Palace of Versailles, according to Times archives.

The house and guesthouse contain seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms within 12,220 square feet of living space. Rooms used in the O.J. Simpson series include the living room, a bedroom, the screening room and the den. The garden was also shown in some scenes.

The backyard is landscaped with lawn, terraces, a rock pond and waterfalls.

The estate came on the market two years ago for $40 million and was reduced to $36 million in June. It changed hands in 1981 for about $2.95 million, public records show.

Producer-writer-director Ziman is founder of the cable television network Cinemoi.

Steve Frankel of Coldwell Banker and Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, are the listing agents.
