Clippers finish preseason with win

J.J. Redick scored 18 points in 22 minutes Tuesday night, and the Clippers survived a shaky fourth quarter to hang on for a 92-89 victory over the Sacramento Kings in the final game of the exhibition season for both teams.

Blake Griffin scored 12 points for the Clippers, who became the first visiting NBA team to play at Sacramento’s new Golden 1 Center. DeMarcus Cousins led all scorers with 23 for the Kings.

Chris Paul had eight points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals in just over two quarters for the Clippers, who led by 21 midway through the fourth quarter, then were outscored, 22-4, the rest of the way.

Ben McLemore finished with 11 points, six rebounds and five assists for Sacramento. Kosta Koufos went five for six from the field, and finished with 10 points.

The Kings scored 30 points in the first quarter, then managed 35 in the next two quarters combined.

Both teams ended the preseason with 3-3 records. The Clippers open the season at Portland on Oct. 27. The Kings open at Phoenix on Oct. 26.
