The New York Mets have lost four consecutive games. They have scored one run in their last 26 innings. They could be about to lose the home-field advantage in the NL division series to the Dodgers.

In the wake of a 3-1 loss to the Washington Nationals in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday, Mets Manager Terry Collins said he was not worried about wins and losses and not worried about whether the Mets get the home-field edge.

“We’re going to party on here,” Collins said. “I don’t care where it’s at. We’ve got to get our edge back.”

Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy, asked if the team had lost its edge, said: “I don’t think so. I have no concerns about this ballclub right now. At all.”

If the Dodgers win Saturday night and the Mets lose the second game of the doubleheader, the Dodgers would clinch home-field advantage, and the NLDS would start Friday at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers hold a one-game lead with two to play; the Mets hold the tiebreaker.

Collins said the Mets needed “to get our offense going” and scoffed at a reporter who asked how the team would do that.

“There’s no answer,” Collins said. “If anybody had ‘em, they’d be millionaires, going from team to team, getting your team out of a slump.”
