Dodgers hold on to defeat Marlins, 6-5

AT THE PLATE: Yasiel Puig hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead. The Dodgers never trailed again. The home run was the seventh of the season for Puig, who also drew a bases-loaded walk in the fifth inning. He leads the team with 29 runs batted in. Matt Kemp had a hit, two walks, stole a base and scored twice. Andre Ethier drove in a run with a fifth-inning single.

ON THE MOUND: Dan Haren improved to 5-1 by limiting the Marlins to three runs and seven hits over seven innings. Signed to a one-year, $10-million deal, Haren is yet to give up more than three runs in any of his starts. Setup man Brian Wilson, who inherited a 6-3 lead, served up a pinch-hit, two-run home run to Reed Johnson. Kenley Jansen earned his 12th save.

MEDICAL UPDATE: Juan Uribe was cleared to return to the bench. ... A.J. Ellis, who is recovering from a minor knee operation, caught for triple-A Albuquerque for the second consecutive day and hit a home run.

EXTRA BASES: Attorneys for Puig will push Friday for the dismissal of a lawsuit filed against their client by a Cuban man, according to the Associated Press. Miguel Angel Corbacho Daudinot claims he was imprisoned and tortured because he was falsely accused by Puig of involvement in human trafficking.
