Brett Favre has high praise for Johnny Manziel
Many NFL fans aren’t sure if Johnny Manziel, the Heisman Trophy winner who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the NFL draft Thursday, will make it as an NFL quarterback.
Poor footwork, they say. Questionable arm and/or mechanics. Doesn’t take the game seriously enough.
But one NFL fan, in fact, an NFL legend, is strongly in Manziel’s camp: Brett Favre.
“I personally like Johnny Manziel as the quarterback in the draft,” he said in a video for Sqor. “I think Blake Bortles is different but is a good prospect as well. It depends on your need, the type of scheme you’re playing. But I think Manziel is probably the best playmaker in all the draft.”
Favre was a three-time MVP and a Super Bowl champion while starting at quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, so he knows a little something about what it takes to be an NFL playmaker.
