USC quarterback Ricky Town and UCLA tight end Chris Clark raised eyebrows with their recent decisions to transfer just weeks into their freshmen seasons.

Town and Clark were among the top-recruited players at their positions in the 2015 class.

Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Matt Leinart said during a radio broadcast with Colin Cowherd on Thursday that recruits “sort of feel entitled” to start as soon as they arrive on campus.

“Whatever happened to the good old, let’s go compete and see who’s better?” Leinart said.

Leinart started at USC as a third-year sophomore and led the Trojans to two Associated Press national championships.

“I was battling with Matt Cassel, who’s still playing; I was battling with John David Booty, who was the No. 1 recruit in the country; I was battling with Brandon Hance who had started at Purdue the year before, took over for Drew Brees and was a good player, and none of us left,” Leinart said.

“Those days are kind of gone because these kids come in, coaches are telling them things, and they’re believing their own hype.”

Town has transferred to Arkansas.

Clark has not announced where he will transfer.
