Grand Park will host a free Fourth of July block party Friday featuring live music, food vendors and the biggest rooftop fireworks display in downtown Los Angeles.
Gates to the park will open at 1 p.m. at four different entrances: Main Street and Temple Street, North Broadway and 2nd Street, Hill Street and 2nd Street and 1st Street and Grand Avenue. Live music will begin on two different stages at 4 p.m., and the fireworks at 9 p.m.
Although bags will be checked at each entrance, attendees are welcome to bring empty water bottles (fill stations will be available inside), sealed juice boxes or pouches, and picnic supplies. Large coolers, lawn furniture, alcohol, narcotics, fireworks, sparklers, tents and grilling gear are not allowed into the event.
Transportation suggestions are posted at grandparkla.org. Those attending the event should plan ahead, as street closures will be in effect.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
