Earthquake: 2.9 quake strikes near Rancho Palos Verdes
A shallow magnitude 2.9 earthquake was reported Friday morning six miles from Rancho Palos Verdes, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:19 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was nine miles from San Pedro, 10 miles from Palos Verdes Estates, 11 miles from Lomita and 364 miles from Phoenix.
In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
