A brush fire in a remote part of northeast San Diego County has burned more than 980 acres but is 70% contained and poses no threat to structures, Cal-Fire said Tuesday morning.

The so-called General fire is burning east of California 79 and southeast of Julian. Some 1,217 fire personnel are fighting the blaze. The cause was under investigation.

The fire is burning toward the desert, away from structures, Cal-Fire said. Only one injury, a minor injury to a firefighter, was reported so far.
