A Beverly Hills woman was recovering Saturday from a gunshot wound sustained during a home invasion robbery.

The robbery occurred at the home the woman shares with her husband in the 400 block of Doheny Road around 8:30 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

The incident began when the couple answered a knock at their door and were confronted by three masked men, at least one of them brandishing a gun, authorities said. The suspects demanded property.

The couple, described as being in their 60s or 70s, were tied up, said Lt. Lincoln Hoshinto. During the course of the robbery, the woman was shot and sustained a gunshot wound to her leg. The wound was not life-threatening.

Police said the three suspects took undetermined property and fled in a car. A search was conducted late Friday night, but was called off. No suspects were found.

The woman’s husband was also taken to the hospital as a precaution, according to police.

The Beverly Hill Police Department is investigating the robbery.
