At least two injured in blaze at Encino apartment complex
Firefighters were battling a blaze at a three-story apartment complex in Encino on Thursday night that injured at least two people and forced others to evacuate, authorities said.
The fire in the 5300 block of Lindley Avenue started shortly before 9 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire is is believed to have started inside a unit on the second floor.
Two people were being treated for injuries, said Eric Scott, a spokesman for LAPD. Some residents in the complex had to be evacuated.
About 50 firefighters continued to battle the fire late Thursday night.
For the record: An earlier version of this post incorrectly said the apartment building was in the 5300 block of Newcastle Avenue. The Los Angeles Fire Department said the fire was actually in the 5300 block of Lindley Avenue.
