Search continues for four children allegedly abducted by their parents

Authorities are asking for the public’s help as they search for four children who were allegedly abducted from their grandmother’s house in Boyle Heights on Friday.

The children’s parents, Enrique Felix and Rosa Chairez, both 28, who had been ordered to stay away from the kids, took them from their grandmother’s home in Boyle Heights on Friday, Los Angeles police said.

The children were identified as Enrique Felix, 7, his brother Justin, 5, and 1-year-old twin sisters Veronica and Janet. The father was known to be physically violent to his wife and children, police said.

A restraining order had been issued against the parents, and the couple were allowed to see the children only during scheduled visits supervised by Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services employees, police said.

The California Highway Patrol issued a statewide Amber Alert for the children early Saturday morning. Police said they have received numerous tips from callers.

The LAPD released a photo, shown above, of the parents with two of their children.

Felix was described as being about 5-foot-10 and weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen driving away with the children in a dark-colored PT Cruiser that was missing its right rear hubcap and had paper license plates, authorities said.

Chairez was described as 5-foot-3 and about 150 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes.
