An Inland Empire couple pleaded guilty to federal sex trafficking charges related forcing a 14-year-old girl to work as a prostitute two years ago, prosecutors said.

Kawaum Marquez Scott, 24, of Quail Valley pleaded guilty to two counts of sex trafficking of a child, while Nekeyia Necole Weatherspoon, 22, of Perris pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to engage in child sex trafficking, according to federal prosecutors.

According to court documents, Scott and Weatherspoon, who also used the name “Keey Bee,” forced the 14-year-old victim into prostitution and took photos of her to advertise services on the Internet.

The couple would drive the victim to destinations in Hemet and made her use an alias and lie about her age to male customers, federal prosecutors said.

On one occasion in October 2012, the victim, whose name was not released because she is a minor, engaged in sex with multiple men over a two-day period, collecting $2,500 in payments that went to Scott and Weatherspoon, according to an affidavit filed in the case.

Scott faces a sentence of more than 17 years in federal prison, while Weatherspoon faces 84 to 168 months.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 21.
