Warming trend expected as storm leaves Southland

A building high-pressure system will push the season’s first storm out of the Los Angeles area Thursday, ushering in warmer temperatures through Saturday, forecasters said.

The storm brought showers to the region Wednesday with some areas reporting half an inch or more of rain. But as the high pressure moves in, the Southland can expect a “noticeable warming trend” heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Mostly clear skies are expected by Thursday afternoon, with high temperatures in the 60s across much of the region. Expect temperatures in the mid-70s inland and in the 60s at the beaches Friday through Tuesday, the weather service said.

Conditions through next week “should remain rather unremarkable,” and no significant winds are expected to accompany the ridge of high pressure, the weather service said.
