A 23-year-old Los Angeles man was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman on a Metro train in Koreatown.

Danon Drake pleaded no contest last month to two felony counts of sexual battery by restraint for the May 17 incident aboard a Purple Line train, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

The woman was riding the eastbound Metro Purple Line about 10:45 p.m. when it left the Wilshire/Western Station, authorities say.

That’s when Drake pushed her to the ground and held her down while he assaulted her.

She was eventually able to kick him off and flee when the train stopped at the next station.

He later turned himself in to the Inglewood Police Department after his photograph, which was taken by a surveillance camera on the train, was released to the public.
