O.C. woman who sexually assaulted two teen hockey players gets prison

A Laguna Niguel woman convicted of sexually assaulting two teenage boys who played hockey with a teen relative was sentenced Tuesday to 16 months in prison, prosecutors said.

Kathia Maria Davis, 46, will also have to register as a lifetime sex offender as a part of her sentence, according to a statement from the Orange County district attorney’s office.

Last August, a jury found Davis guilty of four felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old boy and two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, prosecutors said.

But that jury was unable to reach a verdict on charges related to the alleged assault of a 14-year-old.

In June, a separate jury found her guilty of four felony counts of lewd acts on a child in the case of the 14-year-old, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said that on one occasion between April 2006 and April 2008, Davis let her teenage relative and the 16-year-old guest drink alcohol during a sleepover at her home. After the other teens fell asleep on the floor, Davis kissed and sexually assaulted the 14-year-old, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said she had unlawful intercourse with the 16-year-old four times between July 2010 and July 2011. She also gave him alcohol and, on one occasion, encouraged him and a teenage girl to drink at her home.

The 16-year-old told his mother about the sexual relationship with Davis and the alcohol she gave him, and she contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

During the sentencing hearing Tuesday, prosecutors read a statement written by one of the teens. The teen said Davis “forced me to grow up in ways I never wanted to.... I will never know what [I] could have been.”
