A small brush fire in Ventura County on the edge of Lake Sherwood burned three acres Thursday afternoon before being extinguished, officials said.
The fire was first reported about 12:30 p.m. It was initially a quarter-acre in size, but grew to three acres within an hour, officials said.
Ventura County firefighters said it was put out about 2:40 p.m.
