A tense, hours-long standoff between an armed man and law enforcement authorities at a Norwalk mobile home park ended with the arrest of the suspect late Tuesday.
Television news footage showed tear gas enveloping the home before the 38-year-old man was taken into custody after walking out of the residence.
The suspect, whose name was not released, is on federal probation for bank robbery and pointed a weapon at law enforcement authorities as they took up positions around the home in the 12000 block of Rosecrans Avenue, the
About 30 homes were evacuated Tuesday evening after a multi-agency task force had swooped down on the area to arrest the man around 4:30 p.m.
Authorities said there was at least one other man inside the home.
Residents in the evacuated homes were sent to Thomas B. Moffitt Elementary School in Norwalk.
