Suspect in gun incident killed by San Diego police
San Diego police on Saturday shot and killed a man suspected of having threatened another man with a gun minutes earlier, the Police Department said.
The incident began about 9:12 a.m., when police received a call about two men having an argument on the street in Ocean Beach. When police arrived, one of the men, who reportedly had a gun, had fled, police said.
Police made a traffic stop on the suspect and ordered him out of the car with his hands up, according to Lt. Jorge Duran. Instead, he grabbed a “brown and silver object” and pointed it at officers, Duran said.
An officer fired at the suspect, who was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. A gun was found in the man’s car, Duran said.
