Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was shocked with a stun gun while struggling with deputies in Northern California.

Chinedu Valentine Okobi, 36, of Redwood City died Wednesday after he stopped breathing while in custody. The San Mateo County coroner’s office is investigating his death.

The Sheriff’s Office says Okobi was spotted running in and out of traffic in Millbrae, south of San Francisco, and attacked an arriving deputy. Four more deputies were called and at least one shocked him with a Taser.
