Ventura County authorities are investigating an incident in which a woman was allegedly doused in gasoline and set on fire.

About 4 a.m. on Monday, Ventura County firefighters were called to the 11800 block of Broadway Road in Moorpark to respond to reports of an assault and structure fire, a dispatcher said. Ventura County Sheriff’s Department deputies had also been called to the scene for a report of domestic violence, said Capt. Renee Ferguson.

The first crews to arrive found a woman outside of a home with burn injuries and a small fire still burning in the bathroom. Sheriff’s deputies told firefighters the woman had gasoline on her clothes, officials said.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital, Ferguson said. Her condition was not immediately clear.

No arrests have been made and officials wouldn’t say if they are looking for a suspect. An investigation is underway.
