My name is Happiness
Nima Razfar was walking on Broadway between 6th and 7th streets when he spotted this woman pushing a cart along the sidewalk. Razfar, a photographer, was immediately taken with her outfit. He initially thought she was a chef, but learned that she was actually a seamstress on her way to church.
The woman, who made the outfit herself, was “generous with her time” and allowed Razfar to take as many photos as he needed.
“From the beginning to end, she was full of smiles and laughs,” Razfar said. “Her positive energy and attitude overshadowed any struggles she had getting by.”
Before parting ways, Razfar asked for her name. She responded, “Happiness.”
