While participating in a photography workshop around Downtown Los Angeles, Roy DyBuncio began snapping photos of some balloons he spotted outside Walt Disney Concert Hall. He loved how the day’s light enhanced the balloon's colors while keeping the backdrop nearly pitch black.
As DyBuncio kept shooting the balloons, a boy suddenly walked into his frame and started to play with them.
“The moment seemed just right,” he said. “The color of the balloons and the movement of the boy seemed so perfectly framed that it was hard not to take.”
DyBuncio made the image using a Leica M240 camera with a 90mm lens.
