Reader Photo: A shower of light

Share

One night in January, Sal Barraza and a fellow photographer created a brilliant shower of light under the 6th Street Bridge.

Barraza’s friend acted as the “spinner.” With the ground still wet from recent rains, the whole frame was illuminated in the long-exposure shot.

“I love photography and feel that with photography you can capture beautiful moments in time, hold them there and still feel the life pulse in those moments,” Barraza said.

He shared his experiment on Instagram in six different posts, creating a mosaic effect in the app’s grid view.

“I love puzzles and challenges and enlarging the image for Instagram was just that,” he said. “I also felt that each individual frame in Instagram had a story and life of its own.”

Barraza used a Canon Rebel T5i to create the image.
