After missing the last four games because of an irritated right shoulder, Hanley Ramirez was a late addition to the Dodgers’ lineup Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Dodgers Manager Don Mattingly hinted at the possibility earlier in the day.

“He’s got to the point [where] he’s good enough to hit,” Mattingly said. “I’m assuming at least that today.”

Ramirez hit in an indoor batting cage at Dodger Stadium, then played catch on the field with trainer Stan Conte.

Ramirez, who was available to pinch-hit Friday night in the Dodgers’ 3-1 loss to the Cardinals, will start at shortstop and bat third Saturday.

The game will start at 4:15 p.m. PDT and will be broadcast by Fox.
