to two runs and six hits over seven innings. Maholm was efficient, throwing only 84 pitches. He departed from the game in the eighth inning with the Dodgers leading, 5-2. The start was the fourth of the season for Maholm, who has made three relief appearances.

ran outdoors for the first time since he underwent a minor knee operation April 8. Ellis, who has already caught and hit, is expected to start a minor league rehabilitation assignment once he can run at full speed.
