Update

Five months ago, the Ducks were on the verge of the Stanley Cup Final in an epic series against Chicago. Now they are in full-blown crisis mode in this rematch of last season’s Western Conference finals, which was won by the Blackhawks in seven games.

The worst start in franchise history has put heat on Coach Bruce Boudreau, who mixed up the lines again Saturday only to see them get shut out for the fourth time — as many times as they were shut out all last season.

The Ducks haven’t shown a semblance of the cohesiveness or resiliency that were their trademarks, and their six goals in seven games is one more goal than Chicago’s Patrick Kane has scored.

Defenseman Josh Manson is out for the remaining three games of this trip with an upper-body injury, and the Ducks recalled Joe Piskula. Chicago is 2-0-0 since it lost defenseman Duncan Keith to knee surgery.
