Football: Crespi now has three 300-pound linemen

If you thought Crespi ran the ball well this past season, wait until 2015.

The Celts now have three 300-pound linemen to open holes for returning running back Jalen Starks thanks to the arrival of two transfer students at the spring semester.

Checking in were junior-to-be Ben Holmes (6-foot-4, 310 pounds) from St. John Bosco and senior-to-be Jotavi Leuta-Ulu (6-2, 320) from Servite. They’ll join returnee Pete Christiansen (6-3, 310).

Crespi received 15 transfers at the spring break, several of whom are athletes.

“We believe they’re coming because of the message we’re sending about the school is good,” Athletic Director Russell White said. “We’ve never been opposed to taking transfers. They have to come for the right reasons _ the full Crespi program, not just a particular sport.”
