South Gate football Coach Jose Casagran confirmed in an email that the football office and weight room were vandalized on Friday, with about $10,000 worth of materials stolen or damaged, including two computers, a MacBook, a projector, an iPad, 25 spirit packs and 10 helmets.

Destroyed was the team's 1988 championship trophy that had its top part removed from its base.

"A very sad day," Casagran said.
