Michigan State gets win and scare from quarterback

Connor Cook has three touchdown passes to lead Michigan State to 45-7 victory over Jacksonville State

Connor Cook threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter — and withstood a hit to his leg that left him momentarily hobbled — to help No. 8 Michigan State to an easy 45-7 victory over Jacksonville State on Friday night.

Cook completed his first nine passes in a nearly flawless performance, but he had to be helped off the field when Jacksonville's Folo Johnson dived in and hit Cook around the left knee after a touchdown pass.

Cook was able to come back for Michigan State's next drive. He finished 12 of 13 for 285 yards before sitting out the second half.
