Kareem Hunt ran for 153 yards and two touchdowns, and visiting Toledo beat Bowling Green, 44-28, on Tuesday night for the Rockets’ sixth straight victory in the series.

Cheatham Norrils intercepted a pass on the first play from scrimmage and, four plays later, Hunt ran in a five-yard touchdown. Terry Swanson had a touchdown run of 23 yards, Jameson Vest made three short field goals and Hunt added an 11-yard touchdown run for a 30-7 lead.

Gehrig Dieter made a one-handed touchdown catch at the end of the first half and had another one-handed touchdown grab in the second half to cut Bowling Green’s deficit to 30-21. But Toledo forced a fumble on the Falcons’ next drive and Phillip Ely scored on an eight-yard sneak.

at Ohio 48, Ball State 31: JD Sprague had 321 total yards and three touchdowns, A.J. Ouellette ran for a season-high 121 yards and two scores, and Ohio beat visiting Ball State, 48-31.

Sprague connected with Jordan Reid on two second-quarter touchdowns, of seven and 60 yards, to give Ohio a 28-3 lead. Ball State scored on consecutive possessions in the second half to get to 38-24, but Ohio had an answer each time — scoring on four straight drives.

TCU’s Boykin, Doctson questionable for Oklahoma

Texas Christian Coach Gary Patterson said that dual-threat quarterback Trevone Boykin and star receiver Josh Doctson are questionable for the Horned Frogs’ game Saturday against Oklahoma.

Boykin turned his right ankle while playing against Kansas last Saturday, and Doctson, hampered by a left wrist injury, had only one catch in that game.

As TCU (9-1, 6-1 Big 12), No. 18 in the College Football Playoff ranking, prepares for No. 7 Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1), the availability of Boykin and Doctson is uncertain.

“We’re going to find out Saturday if they play,” Patterson said after repeated inquiries about the status of the offensive standouts during his weekly news conference. “I told you they’re questionable and I’ll know by Thursday.”

Duke dismisses three players
